When there are no birds presenting themselves as photography subjects my lens turns towards dragonflies. It isn't that I find dragonflies particularly interesting but rather that I find most of the alternatives (mosquitoes and deer flies) annoying. Hence these photos.

All of these photos are of live, unrestrained dragonflies in the wild. I present them as, if nothing else, a basic identification guide. Enjoy!
